The Sony AWS-G500 Anycast Station is a content creation tool that can be used for event programming. The Anycast Station combines a streaming encoder and server, video switcher, LCD display, and audio mixer. Both IT and AV inputs are included with the Anycast. The Anycast comes with unique processing features that allow you to switch between compute and video sources without having to use external line converters.

Easy to Use

One of the best features of the Anycast is the fact that it is easy to use. Due to the intuitive placement of the controls on this device, you need not possess any technical knowledge in regards to mixer and switch setup to use the Anycast. By renting the Anycast, you are getting an all-in-one device that combines both ease of operation and power.

Seamless Switching

You can switch between various signal sources, such as from PC images to standard definition video, with relative ease with the Anycast. Doing so is possible with the Anycast thanks to its high resolution internal processing and built-in line converters. Many output sources are compatible with the Anycast, as well, such as DV, S-Video, and standard analog composite.

Flexible Video Input Configuration

You will find various interface modules on the rear panel of the Anycast that include both PC and video inputs. The first 4 inputs are for DV, analog composite, and S-Video, while the next 2 inputs are for RGB. Optional accessories are also available for the Anycast that enable you to create different input configurations. By adjusting the menu settings on the Anycast, you can also assign each of the included modules to any primary input.

Streaming Encoder and Server

Both a built-in streaming encoder and server are included with the Anycast. You can use the encoder to stream high-quality video programs in real time. The content can be distributed over private lines, LANs, or the Internet with minimal degradation. If you only need to stream content to a small number of clients, you can use the streaming server function to distribute the content directly from the Anycast itself, which means an external streaming server connection is not required.

Multi-Camera ISO Recording

Another great feature of the Anycast is multi-camera ISO recording, which enables you to record each signal source on the station to an external hard drive. For each video interface board on the Anycast, you can record 2 primary input sources to a hard drive that is IEEE1394 equipped by connecting it to the rear panel. After your live event, you can quickly and easily connect the hard drives to a nonlinear editing program, which enables you to use the storage space on the external hard drive to feed the source material.
